Bangladesh

Santos acquired the following assets in Bangladesh in October 2007 from Cairn Energy PLC:

• a 37.5% interest in the Sangu Development Area (condensate production)
• a 50% interest in Block 16 exploration acreage.

All of the permits are operated by Cairn Energy Sangu Fields Limited, who retain holdings equal to those acquired by Santos.

Santos is planning an extensive exploration, appraisal and development program in 2011 to increase gas supply through the Sangu facility to the Chittagong gas market.
