Timor Gap

The Timor Gap is located in coastal waters north of Australia. Santos has interests in two permits in this region and has interests in three producing oil fields: Elang, Kakatua and Kakatua North (Santos interest 21.4%). Santos also has an interest in the Bayu-Undan gas and condensate field (Santos interest 11.4%).

The Bayu-Undan field came on line in April 2004 and reached an increased design throughput of over 1 billion cubic feet per day of gas with liquids production of more than 100,000 barrels per day late in 2004.

The pipeline to shore has been completed and was tied in to the platform during a planned shutdown in May 2005. The onshore LNG facilities at Wickham Point, Darwin are now complete and the first shipment of Bayu / Undan LNG left the facility in February 2006.
