Santos opens new office in Roma

08 Dec 2009

Santos' Cathy Irwin and Jamie Miller in Roma.

Santos has officially opened its new community shop-front in Roma, to provide the local community with information on its coal seam gas operations in the region.

Centrally located on McDowall Street, the office will feature information on the company and its operations in the Surat and Bowen Basins, job and procurement registration and a conference area for community meetings.

Maranoa Regional Council mayor Robert Loughnan officially opened the venue.

Roma is in the heart of Santos’ Queensland coal seam gas operations, which in time will supply the GLNG project.

Also in Roma, Santos is backing the Roma Bungil Art Centre for three years. A new public sculpture has been unveiled at the entrance to the centre as part of a three-year plan by the Roma Arts Committee to promote more public artwork.
